“I couldn’t even say
the word ‘cancer’ when my mom was first diagnosed....
I was so terrified of what was going to happen, scared
of the unknown. Once I found The Wellness Community-
Atlanta Northside, I met others who understood how I
felt. For the first time since her diagnosis, I was
able to openly discuss my fears with her and the rest
of my family.

At The Wellness Community-Atlanta Northside,
people with cancer learn that they are not alone. With the
diagnosis of cancer often come the feelings of fear,
depression, and isolation.
If negative emotions remain
constant and unremitting, they may adversely affect one’s
ability to fight, thus making recovery more difficult.
Each day, cancer patients their families and caregivers
can be with others who share the same concerns and
feelings, reducing their isolation and regaining control
of their lives.

Please join us for our Newcomers' Orientation, held each
Monday morning at 10 am at TWC-Atlanta Northside. A
cancer survivor will lead you through a special tour of
our facility and share important opportunities provided by
our dedicated team of professionals to help you in your
journey with cancer.
A national survey of The Wellness
Community support group participants revealed:
- 88% feel less alone
- 87% are happier because they are
in a group
- 83% believe they have improved
- 82% gain hope
- 75% strengthen their will to live
- 72% believe the relationship with
their loved ones was helped
